fruitycanyon is an independent, personal data project built by Luca Burford. It turns public and manually collected Australian property data into interactive tools for exploring market movement. Nothing more, nothing less.
Why it exists
It started as a way to actually look at Adelaide property data instead of reading about it secondhand, and grew from there. It's a side project, built and maintained by one person in spare time, not a company or a commercial data service.
What data it uses
Property Map (/map/): built from Data SA's quarterly median house price spreadsheets, at suburb level.
Australian Home Prices (/cotality/): built from Cotality's Daily Home Value Index. Cotality's figures are shared publicly on X (Twitter) by @rabbit_wealth, and manually transcribed by Luca Burford. Full provenance and methodology: /cotality/data/.
Each tool's own data & methodology notes are the authoritative source for exactly what's in it, where it came from, and how current it is. This page just gives the overview.
What fruitycanyon does not claim to be
Not an official publication of Cotality, Data SA, @rabbit_wealth, or any other data source. fruitycanyon has no affiliation with, endorsement from, or licence from them.
Not financial, investment, or property advice. Everything here describes historical or current data, never a prediction of what happens next.
Not a commercial product. There's no subscription, no ads, and nothing here is sold.
